I think that each character in a story expresses an emotion. I find my brain automatically categorize the characters on its own. For example, I think that Mary in Ta-Na-E-Ka is in my curious category. her culture represents survival of the fittest. I love my culture.
I forgot to tell you that my culture values a period of time where we can NOT eat in the presence of God. We wake up early and eat as much as we think we need before 6:00 am. Then we can't eat or drink until 6:00 pm. It starts at the age of 15.
They have skills to think about what they should do to survive. Lots of people now don't have those kind of skills. Considering kids, like Mary she got her mind straight and thought about what she should do to survive. I'm pretty sure no one in our class has gone in the wild with out any thing. I sure haven't.
they always go through problems in life. The celebration express the values of a culture always represent that certain culture in a special way. When I think of books I read with certain cultures I think of Ta-Na-E-KA
Some of the values of some characters that you read about are sometimes silly or a comedian or some of the characters in the stories do horrible jokes on people. They sometimes learn a lesson on the thing the have done to other people. Some things in celebrations sometimes have the values of there culture. Like Ta-Na-E-KA they have to go into the wild to become a warrior. They don't give ten anything to survive in the wild for eighteen days but they hade to go in the wild with no cloths. They were given no weapons and the had to eat anything that they were ale to eat that wont kill them. That is an example of celebrations that's express the values of culture.
the values of people we have read about are in TA-NA-E-KA are like they liked to show strength they go into the wild with nothing but a knife not eve clothing. they also got painted with some kind of white all over here body and had to come back when all the white color came of even if they tried to wash it up. Most of the time it would take about 18 days. They where also in danger of other tribes and bears or wolfs and if you made it back alive you would be counted as a warrior. Celebrations are a good thing people get to learn about there past and history all the children also get to learn about there history and there family
Some kinds of Indians have kinds of religions. And British don't have the same holidays as Americans do. And Canada people haven't had a lot of wars. Americans have had the most wars. And North Koria people don't have a lot of oxegen.
Some values that the characters have that we have read about are that they all survive in hard or difficult times. And that they all know how to survive.i think they expressthe values of thecultures by maybe doing a special dance. Or dressing a ceryain way . or by doing something special.
Religon is valued in millions of ways. Sometimes, people don't care about certain religons, such as Hitler. He despised Jews and threw them into concentration camps. No matter how much you may hate another persons culture, you should always be respectful and considerate of the people that do. A lot of people think my culture is uninspiring or "made up", but in truth Bahai'is are very religious. We have our custom ways of acknowledging God, and other people have theirs.
Let's chat and discuss what we are learning about in the sixth grade!
